These April showers are bringing… April flowers! Plus artichokes and mushrooms. 🙂
We’re having trouble identifying the species of the mushrooms, though. If you have any idea, please share in the comments!
The Microfarm crew and our lovely volunteers have been working hard this semester to really optimize the space of our 1/5 of an acre. Several new beds have been added so that we can grow more produce. The new, large bed in the back of the farm has been planted with eggplant, the long rows on the north side have cucumbers and sunflowers, and new beds in the front are growing herbs and carrots. With the warm season having arrived a bit early this year, these summer veggies will be available relatively soon. So be patient with our farm stand while we are in this in-between-crops period!
One last announcement: Our Thursday workday hours have changed to 3:30-6:30. And remember, come for as long or as little as you like and you don’t have to be a student to come out!
