Join the UT Microfram, the Concho Community Garden, and the Food Studies Project on Wednesday, February 12 for a private screening of The Garden. The film is about one of the largest urban gardens in the United States, located in South Central Los Angeles. You can watch the trailer here.
From the film’s website:
The Garden has the pulse of verité with the narrative pull of fiction, telling the story of the country’s largest urban farm, backroom deals, land developers, green politics, money, poverty, power, and racial discord. The film explores and exposes the fault lines in American society and raises crucial and challenging questions about liberty, equality, and justice for the poorest and most vulnerable among us.
The screening is from 7-9 in CLA 0.102. Snacks will be provided, beginning at 6:30. The screening is free, but there is a suggested donation of $3.
