If you’ve been on site in the past few months, then you probably noticed our beautiful new shed that was built by the School of Architecture’s Construction II class. The design and build teams included two undergraduate groups and one graduate group. The shed was built from three kits, generously donated by Backyard Buildings. Now that the microfarm is teeming with flowers and produce, its great to have a space that serves as home base during the workdays. The shed is stable, professional-looking, and has plenty of useful storage space. I know we’re all thankful to have a shady space to retreat to for a few minutes on those very hot workday mornings. The shed will also serve as an excellent spot for any community events we have in the future, whether it’s a workshop, a seasonal event like pumpkin carving, or just a simple community potluck dinner. Thanks again to Backyard Buildings and the Construction II class for all your help!
